Logo Work, Layout, Print and Package Design:
An excellent local printing and design studio for whom I do contracted work.
Web Site Design and Development:
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. My first real job as an artist was in a tiny silk screen shop, where I illustrated T-shirts and learned what a color separation was. I have illustrated jewelry catalogs, prime labels, done logo design, newspaper advertising, and know enough about digital pre-press to have taught several workshops at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. I have an AA in Fine Arts from Merced Community College and a BA in Graphic Arts and Interior Design from CSU Fresno.
After a long stint as a stay-at-home father and part-time graphic artist, I returned to the 9 to 5 crowd designing advertsing for the Peninsula Daily News, the paper that serves the entire North Olympic Peninsula. Most of my freelance work is done in the evenings and on weekends, but I still offer an excellent turnaround time.
Flexo printing: I have collaborated on numerous FINAT and FTA award-winning labels. I have taught several FTA-sponsored seminars at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I also have 20 years of experience in digital prepress, specifically in the flexographic field.
Cartooning: Daily Collegian 1985-1987. Staff artist and political cartoonist. Honorable Mention in ACP contest 1987.
Well, you may look on the sample images on the website for my style and abilities. Beyond that, I have over 30 years experience in graphic arts and illustration. I have a thorough understanding of the printing process and will not deliver an unprintable image. I also have much experience with the nature of computer-based graphics and am intimately familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, the primary imaging programs in the professional world. I also believe firmly in the importance of a deadline. I don't miss deadlines. My major strengths are heroic, genre-based illustration and cartography, as well as a thorough understanding of pre-press technology.
